IR Sensor Issue?

Jul 4, 2010 3:12PM PDT

I own a 2 year old (out of warranty) PN42A450 Plasma TV. The remote sends signals (tested via the digital camera test) and the TV receives the signal (red light flashes lower right corner), but nothing happens. When I physically touch the controls on the front TV panel, only the Power button works correctly. Touching the Source area brings up the Menu on the TV. Touching the Menu changes the source. The channel and volume up/down do not work, so I can not control the volume. Is this simply a bad IR sensor board or something else? Thank you.

IR Sensor Issue?

danund,

It's hard to pinpoint an exact diagnosis, but it does sound like there is a component malfunctioning. I would recommend that you have it inspected by a technician.

I'm having the exact same issue, with the same model TV.

Any feedback, what happened?

Believe it or not, the problem just went anyway on its own. Remote works fine now.

IR Sensor board bad ?

Have the issue of audio going max fighting the remote going down.
If I unplug the sensor cable to the panel I loose all communications, so how is it tested
and if I need to; How does one remove the sensor board BN41-0142A
it's in a 2010 50" PN50C450 or is it a glued part of the Bezel
