IR on 42" Samsung plasma

I game on a 42" samsung plasma tv. Recently, when I get turn off my xbox, there is some residual image in the top and bottom right corners. It is only visible on the "no signal" screen. When I turn on the all-white screen in the burn protection section of my settings, the images are not visible, and they seem to go away after a few minutes of TV watching or a few hours of the tv being off. It will reappear after only a few minutes of an image being in that part of the screen, however. I'm concerned about permanently damaging my TV however. Does anybody know if this is normal behavior, or if there is anything that I can do to prevent it?
