Price drop??
by GnomeSerial / February 4, 2008 11:38 PM PST

You think they may have a price drop on the models. or just have the 16gig be the standard in like 2 months. just like what they did with the 4 gig model??

I seriously doubt it

First because they saw what a price drop of a product right after its launching can do and second, cause with more options people will buy more and Apple will have more profit.

I can see a $50 price drop in, like, 9 months. But right now? That will be a little nonsense.

Getting Closer
by PressAnyKey / February 5, 2008 12:30 AM PST

I'm not interested in the iPhone but I'm dying for an iPod Touch that stores more than my current 40gb iPod Color. It appears that Apple is almost there!!!!

Just ordered iP touch for my wife...

Well the 8GB model. I have been told that is more then enough space, and with our limited music collection, I think she'll be fine. I'm not sure I see a price drop coming in the other models, as they are simply priced based on their storage capacity and lowering the price of the smaller models would throw that out of whack.

Does the ipod touch have more capacity than the iphone still?
Also I'm not much interested in either until it's 64GB.... And even then the plans the iphone is on are so expensive for someone like me who only occasionally makes a call....

I think...

That's just a matter of boundedness: two objects cannot occupy the same place at the same time. Or, pushing physics a little away, there's not so many space for chips in the iphone as it has on the ipod touch. Cause, you know, there's bluetooth chips in that thing, edge chips, camera chips, a speaker, etc.

Ipod touch way way thinner though...

It's not like it's the same sized unit with fewer components...

Some of the parts on the iphone are slightly thinner on the ipod touch. E.g, the logic board and the battery. I saw it when teared these things apart. (for those with weak hearts: don't search, it's horrible)

Plus, I may be wrong, but I really think that the fact that the headphone minijack isn't on the same side as the dock may have something to do with the size.

And the ipod touch it's not that thinner, c'mon! Just 3.6 mm.

3.6mm is a decent amount...

That's like what, 2x flash chips worth of thickness? Wink

64 GB Is the Magic Number for Me Also

The iPod Touch has more features but I need at least 64GB if I expect to add videos to my music collection (which is aleady 35gb in size).

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
