yeah, actually i dont own a credit card, as I just started working a month an a half ago, I dont have a credit card yet, so I ll be paying in cash, still not sure if I m getting the damn warranty.
I purchased an ipod at BestBuy a little over 2 years ago - it was a smoking deal on an open box. I did buy the warranty (given that it was open box). About months later, the battery was holding a charge for a max of 2 hours and the hard drive was making an awful sound.
Took it to Best Buy - Their claim was their warranty only applied if they could send it off site. After 30 minutes of discussion with the store manager and a detailed review of the warranty that said nothing about off site repairs, they actually replaced it (with a newer model), along with a stern warning that any future repairs would be sent off site (4-6 week turnaround)
Probably wouldn't purchase their warranty again.
When my husband decided on an ipod earlier this year, we purchased at Costco - they have a no questions return policy as long as you have the original reciept. If you have a Costco store nearby - I would highly suggest it - even if you have to pay the "upcharge" of 5 or 10% for not being a member, the return policy is well worth it.
Hope that helps!
ok thats sound like a good idea but,
Actually I would prefer not to get it at costco, I mean I dont own a costco card so I would have to go with my aunt there, and anything regarding it would involve her I believe so...I would prefer to do it somewhere else that doesnt require a memebership,
Anyway I didnt quite understand why wouldnt you do it again.
Thanks for your help.
I bought my nano there a couple years ago with the warranty. The warranty is only an extra $20 as opposed to Apples $60 extended warranty. Anyways, I had been pushed in a pool with my ipod in my pocket which of course ruined it. I took it into Best Buy and told them my screen wasn't working. They checked to be sure it wasn't working then let me grab a new one. It was a great deal. My current one is having connector problems. So I will test how good the warranty to see if they let me get a new one again.
