I am in the market for a 20+ GB mp3 player and have read all kinds of reviews. I am trying not to buy an iPod if I can help it, but I don?t think the competition has the accessories and versatility that I am looking for:
Connection to home stereo ? I want to have a direct connection in my bedroom to a stereo receiver with an RCA to RCA connection for ?CD quality? sound, not through a headphone jack. The iPod seems to be able to do this using a dock while also charging.
Compact FM transmitter ? I want to be able to transmit FM in a compact unit that does not require DC connection (and preferably not batteries) for use in the car, at others? parties, at work through the radio, etc. The iTrip looks perfect for this, but other players don?t seem to have a similar product. Others are big things with cables.
The only other features that matter much to me are first of all ? sound quality, then reliability, simple touch navigation (the Apple wheel is great), battery life, shuffle options, and size (weight and portability).
Is it true that the iPod can do all of these things? Can any comparable players do the same? Others players I have been considering are the Creative Zen Touch and the iRiver H10. Any other suggestions? Thank you for the help.
