ipod video vs archosav500

Oct 17, 2005 2:13PM PDT

i've been looking around at pvps and portable dvrs lately and the archos ab5100 is seeming to be the serious contender at the moment, however up pops the ipod video. Assuming that there will be an acessorie for recording video onto the ipod ive been having some trouble making a decision. Obviously (to me) the archos av5100 is a better system but when I factor in price and size (portability factor) i get confused. Please help

I say go for the archos
reasons:
1 4' screen
2 Video recording capacity
3 Directly connect even camcorders or digicams
5 the camera attachment is avilable pretty soon
6 It has a removable Battery

I hav an av500 and cant be more happy

Archos AV500! definitely

These are another Archos advantages over iPod:

1. Ipod max. resolution: 320x240, Archos AV500 max. resolution: 720x576 (DVD full res).
2. AV500 has built a little speaker, iPod hasn't.
3. Though AV500 is larger and a bit heavier, still has portability.
4. Archos still has no worldwide recognition as iPod but they have been manufacturing PVPs since 4 years ago.

yes

why?
Is it bcoz of the money involved? If this is so ,then dont buy the av500 at all.Its useless to buy the av500 just to keep it inside ur cupboard.I suggest go for ipod video(for ur purpose) its cheaper but has only 50% of av500's functionality but still u can take it to school with u

Ripping for the iPod

any track ripped from a CD into MP3 format can be put onto the iPod without any problems.
iTunes will convert to quite a few formats, including MP3, and easily transfer the results to the iPod

Still your decision
