Ipod touch - rockbox/jailbreak?

by LyndaLD / October 14, 2009 7:34 AM PDT

The new ipod tough (3rd gen) just cam out. I know rockbox won't work for it, but is there any software that will enable the ipod touch to play many media formats and be able to just drag and drop to the drive or folders instead of going through itunes?

Also, can jailbreaking an ipod accomplish this. What exactly is jailbreaking? I know you can customize the interface somewhat and get extra apps, but are there any other advantages?

Thanks in advance!

I'm pretty sure that the BlackRa1n jailbreaks the device? However, I'm coming to realize rockbox is what I want/need, not jailbreaking.

iPod 3G - Jailbreaking And RockBox
by MStott96 / February 3, 2010 6:04 AM PST

Its a waste of time talking about RockBox for iPod Touch. It was never made. You dont want this. Apple, on the 2nd February 2010, released the iPod 3.1.3 Firmware update, however this was barely an update. It came un-announced and is only a fix for minor bugs within the iPod.

A YouTube user that is know for his "tutorials" on Jailbreaking has notified all the iPod hackers that make Jailbreaking programs about this update. The update stops BlackRa1n, BlackSn0w and all other Jailbreaks from working.

If you currently have the 3.1.2 Firmware, I SERIOUSLY reccomend you dont even bother upgrading. Keep the 3.1.2 and install BlackRa1n from http://blackra1n.com/ it is a tethered Jailbreak for the iPod 3G models, for all other models (1 & 2G) it is a full Jailbreak. There is currently no Jailbreaking software that will make a full Jailbreak of the 3G models, and the creator of BlackRa1n, has announced he will no longer be making updates for his program. BlackRa1n is by far the best JailBreak ever made.

All Regards, MStott96

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
