Question

iPod touch black screen, shows as unknown device on computer

Aug 2, 2012 4:21AM PDT

I recently brought a new iPod 4th gen for myself so I was going to give my brother my old one, I was clearing it off and he asked me if I would jailbreak it for him also so I entered it into dfu mode and plugged it into the computer which then said it was an unknown device and wasnt recognized in itunes either I plugged it out and held the sleep button but the screen remained black and then I tried charging it from a wall charger overnight but the screen is still black. What should I do?

I broke the home button so I actually used this tutorial on how to put it into dfu without buttons so I can't reset it either. Would you happen to know how much it is for a home button repair?

there are a lot of places around that will replace the Home button for you but I cannot tell you what the price will be.

We have a company, locally, called iDoctor. Perhaps it is a franchise and may be in your area too
