IPod Problem - Windows 98 vs. 2000 or XP

Mar 11, 2004 3:58AM PST

Recently purchased an IPod without realizing that it cannot run on Windows 98 OS which is what my home PC runs. I've asked a number of people what my options are and I've either been told to create a dual boot situation or do an upgrade to XP which would force me to back up alot of files, etc.

Has anyone else faced this problem and been able to come up with a better idea. A coworker of mine has mentioned some software download that might be able to bridge the gap and allow the IPod to run on Windows 98, but I haven't seen it yet.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Look at the requirements.

Why go there?

I recently purchased an iPod also, but already had XP. I may be wrong, but i think musicmatch jukebox is compatable with the iPod, and will work on most windows operating systems. If not, get XP, it's so worth it. It upgraded to XP, and am really happy with it. With the upgrade, XP kept all previous files on the computer, so nothing had to be deleted or anything
