iPod NANO NOT STARTING UP!! HELP!!!

Hi:

I have a 1st generation iPod Nano 4 GB and it's not powering up!!!!!! The apple website to connect to your computer and leave it to charge for 20 mins then reset it, but that didn't work! HELP!! PLEASE!!
