But you could look at iRip to get the content back. Then you could move that as you see fit.
It appears to me that this near disaster didn't have you thinking about a backup of what you can't lose.

Hi!
So i had about 80 GB of music on an external hard drive and had iTunes set up so that it would read the files directly off of the hard drive. Unfortunately, my hard drive broke. Tried everything, but to no avail. (Still trying, however... but need a quick fix in the meantime...)
So i have an iPod with about 70 GB of this music on it (thank God!) I can plug it in and play music directly off of it, but i was wondering if i could set it up in the same way that i had my external set up? What i'd eventually like to do from there is somehow figure out the music i'm actually missing so i can go about re-obtaining it. Then i'd put everything back onto a NEW external... (And a backup external... just in case!)
Might be a long-shot, but i was wondering if somebody could hep me out in doing this.
Thanks so much in advance! ![]()
