iPod hold key broken - can I fix it?

I recently purchased an iPod Classic, 80 gigs, used. It works perfectly fine in terms of connectivity, playing music, adjusting settings, everything. The very annoying problem though is that the hold key "sticks." Even when the key is to the "open" position the iPod will sometimes stay locked. The problem comes and goes but it's very aggravating, especially when it will be working fine and then suddenly I can't even turn it off. Is there any way to fix this? Or should I just send it back? Thanks.
