would have...Well, for one thing, I think it is a real draw-back that the iPod is not able (or when it is, is very confusing and not efficient) to be used as a portable storage drive as well as a music player and the other features it can provide. If one can "partition" a drive then why not make the iPod so that it can really (not just in the specs aka on paper) be used to move and store data while still allowing it to perform its other functions.
I have read and tried the suggested ways to make this happen and usually all that happens is loss of the content on the iPod. ( except the nano which does not count because it is a flash drive and works differently than the 30 and 60 GB 5th gen iPods).
Also, the USB connection is very useful for folks without firewire but the USB upload is slow as molasses. Was there no way to make these 5th g pods faster on the uptake? With the addition of video to the playlist this would be a really useful feature.
My third (for now) thought - somehow, someway - the iPod should not have to be a "mac only " or "PC" only choice. I have 3 computers. Only 2 are macs and I would like to be able to use my iTunes purchases from my account on my iPod - but have to "choose" the format. Yes, there are ways to import/export but the whole thing is so UNstreamlined and requires the user to be adept at reworking the media.
Maybe I'm missing something and if so please feel free to fill me in...Thanks.
