any of that content to the new computer? If you did, it wouldn't matter. You should be able to manually sync so that you don't erase what's on the iPod.
Or take everything in your iTunes folder on the old computer (including the library data files) and put it on your new computer. Apple has a tutorial for that:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1329
However, it does have you use your iPod as the device with which you move your content. But instead of doing that I used an external hard drive. I just did this a month ago and my 5th generation iPod never knew it was being synced to a new computer.
If somehow you can't then you might want to try to copy content from your iPod to your new computer. Try this tutorial from iLounge:

Good luck!
I have an older 30 gb iPod Classic, I had get a new desktop. I have some podcast that are no longer available, as well as some other audio content that I would like to save. Is there any way to add audio to the iPod without losing the content that is already there? When I connect the iPod and open iTunes it says that there is newer software available and asks if I want to install it, if I say don't install it goes to another window that says that this iPod was synced to a different iTunes and you can only sync to one iTunes. It askes if I want to sync to this iTunes, everything will be erased and replaced. I want to add to it, would like to put some of the content that is on it on the new desktop, but don't want to lose what is currently there. Is there any way to copy part of what is there, & add to it without losing anything?
