ipod battery

I have 40 gig ipod that all of a sudden after charging fully shows a picture of a battery with an exclamation point on the bottom left inside the bottom left of the the battery. It will not start at all.
Any suggestions as to what this problem is??

The battery is dead!

If it is under warranty, send it back and get it replaced.
Otherwise, Google for a replacement battery for it. Cost is usually around $20

Apple does have a replacement program

In reply to: ipod battery

This is an option if you're not technically inclined.

$59 plus 6.95 shipping (covers both ways) if it is determined that it is a battery issue. Rather than replace the battery in your particular iPod, they will send you a new or refurbished one (more than likely refurbished) with the same functionality. If you had engraving done by Apple, Apple will do the same engraving. However, if you had any third party customization, you will lose that. You will also lose any music you had on it. (Well, since it is your music you should have it on your computer anyway)
