iPhoto - How do I get rid of see-thru date over pics?

Feb 1, 2010 11:30PM PST

When I am in iPhoto and want to look at my pics, there is this darkish see-thru rectangle in the center of the screen that contains the date (for example, April, 2009 (which is the date the pics were taken)) - and it is really annoying and distracting as it lays right on top of the pictures I want to see and evaluate. It happens when I am in a folder looking at a bunch of pics in the folder, and also if I go full screen to look at individual pics.

Please help me solve this problem - does anybody know how to get rid of this annoying feature?

The only time I see a date in the center is when dragging the scrollbar while viewing by Events. Maybe it got stuck for some reason. You could try going to events and dragging the scrollbar again to see if it clears it when released.

This won't help you solve the problem, but I am now experiencing the same problem. When I looked at the events and scrolled, there was no change, but when I switched to pictures and scrolled the date changed. I haven't been able to find a solution yet, but will post as soon as I figure it out.

o.k., problem solved ...

I searched in the help files and got lucking with the wording of my search apparently you can fix this by doing the following:
You can also turn the Scroll Guide on or off. Choose iPhoto > Preferences and click Appearance. Select the checkbox to "Show scrolling information."
Now, I didn't see the fix until I quit and restarted iphoto.
Hope this helps you too ... hope the wait wasn't too long Wink
