IPhone with Ethernet cable

I have a wired Internet connection but can't use wi-fi (you don't want to know). Can I connect to the Internet with an ethernet cable to avoid using cellular data?

Re: Ethernet

If you iPhone has an Ethernet slot, the answer is yes. If it doesn't, it's no. It's as simple as that. But I don't know of any iPhone that has one.

Maybe buy a wireless router?

The iPhone does not have an ethernet connection

and we actually do want to know why you cannot use wifi.

As Kees_B asked, why not buy a cheap wireless router?
