iPhone Tom Tom app

Jan 17, 2010 12:30PM PST

Okay so today i was using the Tom Tom USA app for the first time and i decided to take it to my friends house which live about 3 miles away. Instead of taking the highways it took me on trek through numerous back roads and since it was raining turns came up too quick and i lost control of my car. There is a different way to get there but it is longer and has highways, which i prefer. Is there anyway that i can adjust the app to only use highways to prevent further incidents like this. I must be odd because there is the option for avoiding highways but not preferring them.

this problem happens on their TomTom in car units too.

How does the rain make the turns come up too quickly?

Error

The road looked to go straight since I saw a road on the horizon going straight and I assumed that it was the same road I was on at the time but then after realizing my error on the gps I looked up quickly to see the awaiting turn.
