The budding iOS and Android developer would have used google to find this..

Android developer
iOS developer

Both find the usual resources. I do find some that lose their temper and that's a good sign they are not ready to code. I'll also give a nod to http://www.codeproject.com/ as there are many tutorials on both platforms.

Parting note. If you are going to write on iOS, stop fighting it and get a Mac.

Go for iOS

I would advise you to start with iOS. Once you have developed your iPhone application, you can use cross-platform development tools to make it available for Android devices. It is much cheaper and faster. There is a wide range of such tools – http://appindex.com/blog/ten-best-cross-platform-development-mobile-enterprises/
Why iOS? App Store brings much more revenue than Play Market, see this research data here Also, it brings you many opportunities – the latest iOS versions provide for adaptive UI, so you can easily transfer your iPhone app to iPad or iWatch. It is very convenient, beacuse many developers view iWatch development as worthwhile (I read about it here ). This way you can build one app rather than waste your time on developing freestanding apps for iPhone, iPad and iWatch.
Finally, courses. I recommend this video course by Stanford University called “Developing iOS 8 Apps With Swift”
You may also check out that thread on Quora, it is quite similar to your question and there are many good comments with relevant sources – https://www.quora.com/What-are-the-best-online-iOS-Android-development-courses
I hope this will be helpful for you.
