iPhone 6 Plus has more space than iPad

Has anyone noticed that the iPhone 6 Plus has 6 rows of app icons on the homescreen, while the iPad has 5 rows? Seriously, count them, and by the way, I did not include the dock. Is there any way to get the extra row? (I had a jailbreak, but lost it on iOS 8, but I can do it again for iOS
