Question

iPhone 4 comparison AT&T vs. Verizon

Sep 15, 2011 7:19AM PDT

I realize that with AT&T you can talk and browse the internet at the same time but you cannot do that with the Verizon iphone 4. My question is, "Is it a software or hardware difference that makes AT&T's iphone 4 able to browse and talk at the same time but does not allow the Verizon iphone 4 to do the same?"

Answer
Could be a network thing.

The radios and network would have to support both audio and data links. You could research if one didn't do both at the same time.

Yep, it's the difference between the two networks

At&T uses GSM/EDGE and UMTS/HSPA technology while Verizon uses CDMA

Without getting technical, with one you can and the other you can't

All to do with how your call is handled

BTW, it's not just the iPhone 4 that can do the talk and surf thing.

ALL the iPhones, including the original one, can do it

PS. And you love how Steve Wozniak solved this issue.
