ipad, macbook pro or macbook air?

May 29, 2012 9:18PM PDT

I'm trying to decide if I should purchase an ipad2 or laptop (air or pro, the mountain lion series once it comes out).

I'm finishing up school (I have one year left) then plan to travel for a few years. I currently have a PC laptop that still works. However, the laptop is 5 years old and is beginning to slow down. I can still use it for writing papers, doing research, etc.

I purchased an iphone a year ago and I am in love with the features. Is it worth the extra money to purchase another laptop or should I purchase an ipad???

That fully depends on what you want to do with it while travelling a few years.

the added versatility of the thing.

Although the iPad is capable of doing a lot, it should not be considered to be a replacement for a laptop.
