Question

iPad good fro writing?

Nov 30, 2011 3:20AM PST

<span id="INSERTION_MARKER"> I have an iMac Desk Top. I'll be out of the country for a couple months. I want to continue my writing and would like your opinion--is the iPad a good writing tool for novelists, playwrights, etc.? I hear the iPad3 may be available in the Spring. Worth the wait for me?<span id="INSERTION_MARKER">Thanks.

I'd use a real PC, Mac or laptop. If a laptop, then take a separate keyboard and mouse with you. And preferably a monitor also, because the screen of a laptop is situated somewhat too low to work comfortably for a long time.

Answer
Depends on your writing style.

Here I can look away for short periods as I touch type. For a non-touch typist any 10 incher pad would have the finger tips aching in a very short time.

By the time you setup some iPad with keyboard and more you may be back to the price of a normal laptop.
