Question

IP Camera

Hi there, I have a Wanscam HW0036 IP Camera and I've tried to follow the instructions from a guy on YouTube but it doesn't seem to connect to my internet?

His just connected straight away but whenever I try to connect, nothing happens?

I was just wondering if anyone would be able to help?

Regards,
Jordan

Answer
Try the instructons from the maker next.

If that fails, the product is not ready for market and you return it and try another. That is, if the product documentation is this bad and the support fails, it's time to exchange it.

Thanks

Hi, thanks getting back, I tried the instructions that came with the device first to no avail so that's why I tried looking on YouTube, just to see if it was something that I had missed but unfortunately neither had worked.

I'm trying to set up the camera in my office and it's got a shared internet which then goes into a router that I purchased myself, could this cause any issues? I've previously tried a normal camera but that didn't work and was advised to get an IP camera which also isn't working?

I have an IP camera but have stopped using.

It was a cloud version so it was annoying in some area so "not ready" or didn't meet my expectations.

I can't guess why your camera failed but it's not the router, it's almost always the instructions. For example the IP camera prior to this didn't detail how to get access from outside the office. Lucky for me I wrote router code in the 90's so I promptly put the camera IP into the router DMZ and that worked. However imagine everyday Joe/Jane, that won't work for them. Too techy.

Sounds Like Me

Yeah I'm not very technical myself so I'm not sure how to set these up. I was told that an IP camera is very simple to set up and had advise from two people and still haven't managed to set it up. Do you know how I could set it up? It's a Wanscam HW0036 IP Camera, it says it's got One Key Installation but that doesn't seem the case?

Thanks

One key is misleading

That could be how it's paired with the WiFi router. Not how to get access to it outside the office.

Now comes the pain. By easy, for my fellow networkers they would call it easy if I told them to put the camera IP into the router's DMZ but imagine everyday users. Too techy.

Thanks

Is there anyway that I can fix this?

Sorry but what needs fixing?

I would be guessing if the issue is that it fails altogether or if access from the web is needed.

You must be conversant with router setup, what the DMZ entry does and how to access your external IP address. This is where most melt down as it's just too techy and something I can't teach in 3 paragraphs or less.

Product model is different, the specific steps are still different.Better ask the customer service for the right instructions even video,so you will connect it more quickily.

Maybe something went wrong with you. Maybe there is something wrong with the product. I think you should try to contact the seller.
