I suspect, millions of others.

Perhaps you have an older iPhone that really did not have the legs to carry off iOS7

Thats possible then why?

Then why did apple keep reminding me to update my software

According to what Ive read iOS 7 does not allow non apple usb cables
It keeps rejecting the connection when I try to charge

I am not going to buy a 20 .00 usb cable from apple

Didn't have that problem

where did you hear it?

I know of lots of 3rd party USB connectors for the iPhone that worked fine but I also know of a few that were poorly constructed and just failed to live up to Apple Specs, (or even IEEE specs for USB)

Nobody forced you to update to iOS7

In fact, if you would have properly researched the matter, you would have learned that it's not the ideal choice for an iPhone 4. Just because you see the update in settings doesn't mean you cannot simply ignore it (and for all other apps, for that matter).

Just like another other non-Apple branded accessory, you need to try a few to get one that works to your liking. Nothing new there either. Hence the price difference.

I should have researched it so

You're right about that
I still think Apple should not send update notices to phones that can't handle the upgrade or they should make it known that not all phones are suitable
In addition I think it's apples way of forcing people to upgrade their phones

True Nobody forced me but

One of the first things they ask if you call in with a problem is
Is your software up to date?
As if that will solve all problems
Apple has their agendas

Umm, hate to break it to you, amigo- but nearly all companies support starts by repeating that same phrase. Ad nauseum.

Any OS doesn't meet everyone. ios 7 is good, you can buy a new iPhone and try it again.

- Collapse -
Well it wasn't good for me
Jan 27, 2014 10:18AM PST

and another person I talked to

I am not going to buy another iphone just to see if the OS works on it
I still think apple does this kind of thing in part at least to force people to upgrade

I am going to get an android phone I think

There are a lot of them out there with good features

Good grief

Yes, it's a huge conspiracy(!) They *forced* you to press that 'upgrade' botton too. LOL. Can we move along already?

Think about it. The iPhone 4 came out when- June 2010(?) It's four years old already.
It's no wonder any new hardware will work much better with iOS 7.

Make sure you do a little research about Android OS updates before you dive in to that pond, amigo.
