Iomega USB drive fails

Had old 100 Meg parrallel zip drive. after faithful service the drive died. Bought a Iomega USB 100 meg zip drive . LOaded the software and it will not read my old disks. It will reconize the new drive. but not allow read or write to old or new disks

Tried troubleshooting it . emailed Iomega and nothing.
Have a Compac Pesarior 2 USB 1ports AMD Chip with MS XP SP II upgrade.

How many years did you get on it?

FYI. I found a couple 100MB IDE units for 10 bucks each. They seem to have fallen out of favor.
