IOLO System Mechanic Question

May 21, 2005 1:49AM PDT

Running Dell 8400, 160 Gig HD, 1 Gig Memory with Norton Internet 2004. MS AntiSpyware, Counterspy, SpyBot, AdAware and Win Patrol. Recently purchased IOLO System Mechanic 5 Pro due great CNET writeup. Received e-mail with download but had CD enroute. Download from e-mail after uninstalling Norton caused all sorts of problems taking about 4 hours to get system up again. Now I have the CD but am honestly a bit scared to install it. Any info on System Mech. 5 Pro and your experiences with it and opinion of it will be greatly appreciated. Also any tips on installing it based on my system listed above. Very sincere thanks. Chuck

My pc came with Norton installed on it. The first thing i did was un-install Norton, all of it. I use Zone Alarm and Anti Vir. I never have any problems. Just a thought....

I had System Mechanic as trialware, and uninstalled it pretty quickly.
All sorts of problems with it crashing on itself and crashing the system, corrupting registry.
Yeh, it did have good reviews. Shame.
