io/magic dvd burner- slow

i purchaced a io/magic dual layer burner 16xdual format burner.
i have a dell 3000 desk top p-4 3.0 gig 512meg dual channel ram.
it takes me a aprox 38 min. to disc copy a movie w/ 8x recording disc.same brand as below.
my friend has a p-4 2.2 gig dell 4550 desk top the same movie takes him 7-8 min. both of us has nero 6.2
please help if any one.both are same brand & model burners.

So on a great day, when all is (never) perfect day without any delays for fixations, finalizing or such the 1X drive makes your DVD in ... 3,482 seconds or 58 minutes.

That 8X, in theory could dive under 8 minutes, but I see 10 to 20 for the full 4.7GB write everytime.

Try better software.
