to turn off XP firewall. You will have to forward a port on your router, what router do you have? It should be in instructions. Is Bigpond a dsl or cable connection? The modem might have a firewall also, my msn dsl modem did here in the U.S.
I recently had my computer upgraded from W98 to XP Professional for me by a friend. Before this we had no anti-virus, but since the upgrade we got Symentac AntiVirus Corperate, and last week we upgraded to Telstra Bigpond Broadband (Australia) Now we all know that Bigpond is crap, but when I tried to direct connect with my friend on AIM, it says I have to turn off my firewall. None of the XP firewalls are on - do broadband routers or Symentac software have firewalls? If so, is there any way to turn them off?
Thanks in advance,
