Question

Inventory Software

If this is posted in the wrong section my apologies feel free to direct me to the correct posting forum.

I recently have been given a task to accomplish at work and i am looking for some guidance as to my options.

I need to inventory new in the box automotive parts. I need the ability to scan parts into and out of our inventory. Can anyone recommend software that is compatible with a wide range of scanners. Software that can recognize a piece's identity through its bar code is a huge plus.

I implemented optical scanners in my app over a decade ago. There is no magic here. These scanners on PCs look just like a keyboard. So when you scan, it's as if the person had typed in the code on the keyboard. So just about any software that has an input text box that is for input of the item just works.

The problem as I see it is not finding software but there are so many that you need to write a better spec that what you posted here. Then use google to find it, review them and decide.

designed for auto repair shop. It's a full fleet auto repair system. It includes a part inventory system that uses gun scanning devices. But if you need only auto parts inventory Google auto parts inventory and i saw a bunch that came up on Ebay.
