... I thought it was some sort of joke, and was ready to say, "And just what is the sound of one hand clapping".
But after reading the article, I can see it will have practical applications.

walking over to get a speaking device before yelling at one or more players. It'll have to be quite a contraption to contain his voice.
He might take to it like a fish to water if he can tell a specific player what play to run, or ask him 'what the heck are you doing not covering that shooter!', or maybe a word or two to the ref about what a nice job he is doing ![]()
If I'm driving along in my car with a concert hall in my head will I be able to respond to the police sirens? Or the screams of fear from the passengers?
