invalid page fault....USER.EXE at 001e:0000166c

Hi everybody,
Thanks for the help everyone but please read my message of 11/11/03 under 16BOBBY again. Tried recommendations made but upon closing down and restarting in safe mode I keyed in letter 'c' at the blinking prompt. Instead of bring MS-DOS mode at the line saying ; 'c:/windows...' it brought up a dark/light blue window who's main menu said "DS-XG PCI CONFIGUATION UTILITY VER 3.03'. Upon exiting with information from the 'UTILITY' the DOS prompt became available. Keying in cd\windows, deltree history, than exit, did not solve the problem(Autocomplete in Windows Explorer checked at the end)
(1) after restarting in safemode how do I bring up a pure MS-DOS mode? (2) any additional means or methods to solve the above subject problem? Again many THANKS for HELP.
BOB K

Without a link, all is lost.

Besides, if you add to your thread, it pops to the top of the page.

Let me be blunt. Save yourself and others a lot of time. Just add your new info to your old post.
