by nosee / April 2, 2008 10:33 PM PDT

Hello,
I'm using XP and when trying to install software and hardware I'm getting this message: Error 1327. Invalid Drive D:\ and the computer won't load any further. Can someone explain how to get rid of this error?
Thanks

Can you tell more?
- what IS your d:-drive ?
- does it still work?
- what software do you install?
- where do you install the software from?

There's a lot of info to be found in http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=install+error+1327 but interpreting it needs more details than you provide at the moment.

D Drive

Hello and thanks for your reply.

You asked What is your D: I don't know as I can't find it !! It does not show up in My Computer or Control Panel etc.

I was trying to install a HP Printer psc 1350 series.

I tried to install from a CD and I also tried to install from the HP website. No matter how I do it the error comes up.

I need to know how to find the "D drive" and delete it, I tried a file search without any luck.

Tried Changing The DVD/CD Drive To "D"?
by Grif Thomas Forum moderator / April 3, 2008 1:42 AM PDT
In reply to: D Drive

It appears like maybe you've recently replaced a DVD/CD drive or at least some drive letters have changed. It may once have been designated as "D" and is now something else. The "D" drive designation remains in the registry. As long as the "D" designation is not being used, you should be able to change the current designation to "D" in "Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Computer Management/Disk Management".

Hope this helps.

The Samsung RF23M8090SG

One of the best French door fridges we've tested

A good-looking fridge with useful features like an auto-filling water pitcher and a temperature-adjustable "FlexZone" drawer. It was a near-flawless performer in our cooling tests.
