Invalid census form?

by Bill Osler / July 28, 2011 8:11 AM PDT

I gather that the following has been making the rounds on some social network sites. When I first saw it I wondered if the friend-of-a-friend who posted it was serious ... but I don't think so.
I do wonder if ANYBODY actually put this on a census form. I also wonder if the Census Bureau ever does send back a form for clarification:
My Census form has been sent back to me again!! In response to the question: "Do you have any dependents?" I replied -"12 million illegal immigrants; 3 million crack heads; 42 million unemployable lazy people, 2 million people in over 243 prisons; Half of Mexico; and 535 more in the U.S. House and Senate." Apparently, this was NOT an acceptable answer!
I don't think the sentiment is quite accurate (I don't personally provide meaningful support to any specific individual other than my immediate family) but I understand the frustration implied by the post.

There is a difference

I understand it too. But, in plight of the poor while many that pay taxes wonder how they will make ends meet. Others that see a more different plight will wonder how to meet the end of the day. It really is that different in this country for some. There is a permanent class that won't ever get better w/o help. U would get off soapbox if it wasn't already burned to create heat for cooking. so results are not yet tabulated. But the previous census 2001 almost created a new religion, Klingon!

There were other silly entries as well, but as far as I know, not as bad as the one you posted.

One of the best French door fridges we've tested

A good-looking fridge with useful features like an auto-filling water pitcher and a temperature-adjustable "FlexZone" drawer. It was a near-flawless performer in our cooling tests.
