Invalid boot.ini file

Mar 10, 2006 7:52AM PST

I'm running Windows XP on a Gateway desktop. For the last several weeks whenever I boot up I see the following:
"Invalid boot.ini file
Booting from \WINNT"

The machine then boots and everything seems to work okay, but the error message is troubling.

I suspect that the boot.ini file is either missing or corrupted.

Any suggestions on how to correct this situation.

Thanks.

Jerry
