invalid BOOT.INI file

Feb 15, 2004 11:43PM PST

Ever since I updated my Windows XP for home with the latest "security update" from Microsoft, I get an "invalid BOOT.INI" message when I turn on my computer. On the next line it reads something like "booting from c:\windows" ... after that, it does go ahead and boot up and everything seems to be working fine. Should I attempt to create another "valid" BOOT.INI .... or leave well enough alone? Any thoughts? Help? Thanks!!
