Invalid Active X/COM Entry - Logitech Desktop

Aug 1, 2004 2:37AM PDT

When checking for possible Windows problems with Norton Utilities, I continually get this message:

Missing or Invalid Key: "bwp\shell\open\command"

The key "bwpfile\shell\open\command," refers to an invalid command entry, :C:\Program Files\Logitech\Desktop Messenger\8876480\6.1.4.68-88-8876480L\Program\PrvCnt.exe "1%"."

I have contacted Logitech to no avail. This message keeps appearing. Any one with some ideas as to how to solve this should contact Ed Roberts at daty123@earthlink.net. Any help would be appreciated.

Symantec has other issues with said software so if you are not experiencing a real problem, then call it a false detect and tell Norton to ignore it.

Thank you...I did do that originally...but thought that it might cause problems...wasnt sure if it was ok to ignore and nothing happen...just a pain to keep seeing it come up all the time when running a check.

Thanks again...would be easier if we could fix the problem and not ignore it huh?...lol

In short, do NOT fix these errors since doing so (for me at least) results in some updates failing later.

The product has some defects and can't be trusted with all it's reports.
