The television will not be able to run the Internet@TV applications beyond the InfoLink features because the TV doesn't have adequate hardware, and innovation has moved forward since the release of the LE40A856.
The good news however is that SamsungApps is available on 2010 models of Samsung Blu-Ray players. If you're foreseeing this as a future purchase, you'll be able to enjoy many of the features of SamsungApps through your 2010 model Blu-Ray player.
Here's a list of Apps available for the various Samsung product lineup. This list is applicable in the U.S., so you may want to check with your local retailer or the customer service center in your region to see if this is the same offering for products where you live.
