Question

Internet Speeds

Mar 19, 2016 2:26PM PDT

I have a virgin media super hub, not super hub 2. I tested my download and upload speeds with Ookla and it says,
62 Mbps download but only 3 Mbps for upload! Is this bad, and if so, how can I improve the upload speed.

Also my ping is only 13ms. Is that good or bad?

Answer
That's what they call asymmetric and normal.

Almost all ISPs today do that since you need more down than up speed.

It's slow because it's what you pay for.
Switch to glass fiber or SSDL (the first S is for symmetric) and it will be fast.

Many gamers (billions?) gripe about this when it comes to sharing their internet connection.

And no, it won't matter as games are tuned to run on asymmetric connections.
