Internet.sony.tv site is down

Nov 26, 2011 12:25AM PST

I bought another Sony Media Player on Black Friday and anted to activate the features so I attempted to login to internet.sony.tv again, again, and again and the site continually timed out. I could find no notices or information about the site on any of the other hundred Sony product or support sites. I finally got a technician on chat and he told me the site was "down for maintenance" and essentially there was no etr for repair. Woo to everyone who bought a blue ray player or a smart tv or any other smart device that require activation. I just wanted to get a note out somewhere so others won't spend hours trying to activate their devices.

Sorry for the misspellings just too angry to check my work!

Thanks for doing the work so the rest of us might not get as frustrated. I had a feeling, too. I think I'll just try back every day or so. Not a great customer experience to not get a "down for maintenance" or "we are experiencing difficulties" message. Especially, as you say, right during the biggest U.S. shopping day/weekend of the year. Sony may do a good job with the hardware, but the customer interface with their company hasn't been looking as sharp with my experience.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding what you are trying to do, but when I went to the https://internet.sony.tv/customer site and clicked on "Create an Account" I entered the code for my Bravia and activate the TV. I later followed the exact same procedure to register a Blu Ray. I now have full access to all of the internet content on both.
