Such as firmware version of the router is latest, you use the stock settings and for security WPA.

PC w/XP Pro, SP2, ASUS MB w/Marvell Yukon Network Adapter on board. Netgear Rangemax Router, Time Warner supplied modem (Motorola?)
I use Network Magic to manage network since I am about ready to go wireless for our laptop.
PC speed can be fast but will eventually slow down to the point that it takes forever to open a page and will not send info. I run a diagnosis to check speed of download and upload. Download is about 4400 kbps and around 350 kbps for upload. But when everything slows down, it will not upload at all. I get a message it has failed. So dealing with a page where I have to send and receive info is impossible and it will time out.
I have checked everything. Run laptop and it works on net. Changed network cables, run Panda Internet Security scanning for entire PC, made sure all cables are seated properly, switched cable locations on router.
So, could this be a hardware issue? Maybe adapter on MB is going bad? Can I install separate adapter in PC for better and reliable speed? Could modem be issue?
Any help or suggestions appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
