Internet security using Palm and Sprint

I wonder about security using my Sprint Palm 755p on the internet. It is a terriffic internet tool. G-3, etc., even TV, but it does not have typical security software, and I don't know how safe it is off https sites.

Let's be clear here.

You are not running windows. There are no known virus or trojans for the PalmOS. The only issue is leaking data along the way to the web site.

For example the EVIL TWIN issue noted at http://reviews.cnet.com/4520-3513_7-5630181-1.html which is something it won't matter what you used.

Bottomline. Don't bank or much else on unsecured wifi locations.

Internet security for Palm 755p using Sprint.

In reply to: Let's be clear here.

Thaks, but I'm not clear on how the system works here. In order for me to get on the internet with my Palm/Sprint phone, I have to have the telephone turned on. I seem to only be able to get on the internet when I have a good # bars of signal strength but not when the signal is weak. Do not those bars refer to the Sprint system, and therefor am I not somehow using the Sprint network to get on the internet? Never WiFi? So can't I just forget about WiFi spots and look for cell towers giving me good Sprint signal strength.

If you are going over the Spring network....

Then it's as secure as they offer. I can't comment about that. Please ask them.

However when we use wifi we must be careful as to where we connect that to.
