Question

Internet problems

Aug 16, 2017 8:48AM PDT

Hello. Firstly, I'll like to thank you for reading this question of mine and hopefully be able to come up with an answer or a solution to it.

Alright, before I begin questioning here are my specs.
Intel Core I5-4590 @3.30 GHz (Processor)
8GB Ram
Nvidia GeForce GTX760 (Graphic Card)
MSI H97 Gaming 3 (Motherboard)
1TB Memory (Including OCZ-ARC100)

As you can see, my specs are pretty old, I've gotten this computer on 2015 after all. But there is a big problem which I've been encountering.

My internet is stable most of the time, but when I game such as playing dota, my internet suffers from these disconnections and re-connections almost continuously.

So you may think, it could be the problem with the internet/router/cable. But, I'll clarify this, I've tried to connect this PC with 3 different sources of internet, and every single one suffers from internet problem whilst my laptop has absolutely no problem whatsoever with the internet.

So, I'm highly suspecting that my computer is the problem here and the problem could've came from it depreciating, and I'll like to upgrade it by replacing the old parts.

However, I'm not too sure regarding which parts are the problem that's causing this. I'll most likely replace my graphic card for a GTX1060, but other than that, I'm not too sure about what could be the part which is causing this.

So, the questions I would like to ask is, should I just upgrade my computer(please let me know which are the parts I should change), or should I just build an entirely new custom-made PC?

I see remnants of McAfee. Small world. (Speccy reading too)

This is what I would try today. I make no claims as to fixing the issues.

1. McAfee looks to have remnants and leftovers. Go ahead and remove it with their tool at
https://service.mcafee.com/webcenter/portal/cp/home/articleview;jsessionid=cnet

2. Avast. OK choice but have a mix of McAfee remnants and another AV can be trouble.
See item 1.

3. Power Profile. Set all these items to never until the problem is solved.

4. uTorrent. There it is. The network killer.

I'm stopping here because between items 1 and 4 that's more than enough to have network issues. There may be more in the report of interest but as a rule I can't help torrent users. That alone causes so many system issues that I treat such machines as tar pits that I can't enter.

Will try to do so.

1. & 2.) I see, I'll remove them afterwards
3.) I'll set them to never and wait a week to see how it goes.
4.) Is uTorrent really such a big network killer? I always turn it off whenever I'm not using it though, and I haven't torrent anything in a while.

All in all, thanks for the help. I'll try reformatting my computer and not install uTorrent and see if any of these problems will occur again before I make any further decisions.

I would not reformat.

Sometimes, the connection between the modem and the ISP may be experiencing problems. ... After waiting for several minutes, turn on the modem, reconnect the cable from the computer or the router to the modem, and then restart the computer. Test your connection again to see whether you can access the Internet.

You might want to look at the date of a thread before posting.

After 30/60 days I doubt the OP is still around or has any interest.
