Hello, I have a problem for my internet where there are "pitfalls" as I call them

Unlikely.

That's common for WiFi and Torrents. Both areas have many long discussions and the causes tend to upset folk. That is, for torrents, well, that's the nature of that system and well, why duplicate that discussion.

WiFi is subject to interference so to fix that we do the usual or just get wired.

What are you using for downloading?

That picture you posted is not anything I've ever seen before. It's not what you get with IE, Firefox, or Chrome when doing downloads, so what is it? What is your configuration? Mac, PC, tablet, what?

I am using netgear genie to monitor my speeds as shown in the picture.

I am using steam to download software and my speed fluctuates up and down.

Which would be normal.

My son has Steam as well and it's downloader and servers do that. There are folk that download over WiFi with torrents and well, again, long drawn out discussions what's up.

In the case of Steam it will eventually get there.

Did you try the usual and set the WiFi to 802.11g?

Sorry no.

I did tell you but as each router differs and then each router version can differ I can only tell you this much. Maybe it's time for some standards in routers?
