My computer got hit by a pretty bad virus, nothing worked on it at all, and since I don't have an enourmous income anymore (going to high school, work in summers), I just decided to format my computer instead of take it to be fixed.
After formatting, I noticed that the integrated internet was very slow, even after putting back on all the correct drivers, so I went out and bought a new (cheap, $40 Canadian) network card, Lynksys LNE100TX
Fast Ethernet Adapter(LNE100TX v4), and the internet was again very fast, I could download things off websites at about 300kbps, and was getting very good connections on Limewire. Now though, it has slowed down a lot, I have no idea why. I've ran programs such as tuneup utilities 2004 to help speed it up, which it did, for a while, but now its again, slow. I also use registry mechanic on my computer, and used to use winxp manager, but not anymore, although I think some settings left from that might still be affecting my computer.
My computer is on a router shared with 2 others, one of the computers is always on.
