Internet in CELLPHONE via PC

Apr 13, 2007 1:55AM PDT

We all know that a computer can link to the internet with the use of 3g/wap enabled phone... well, I'm just wondering if it is possible to do the reverse and have the 3g/wap phone connect to the internet using the internet connection that is already present in the PC...

Hmmm

Very good question... I've heard some people with certain phones have that ability. Usually phones from Kyerocera, but many companies don't give out that info. Someone might know something for your phone.

What connection would you want to use ...

between the phone and the PC? Bluetooth, IR, USB-cable, WiFi?
And what phone do you have?

Both are rather essential to know.

Then check the manual ...

that came with your phone if it supports it, and what software it might need on the PC to do this job. Most manuals I've seen are rather vague on software, so better look at the makers FAQ and download pages also.

But I'm afraid it won't work. After all, it's not really in the financial interest of the telco to have this working. You've got to pay THEM for the datacom use, not use an existing connection. So it isn't offered.
