It's called spyware. Download AdAware, Spybot, etc and run them. In a "where there's smoke there's fire" sort of thing, you've probably got a pretty good infestation going.

Newedition,

Following Yewanchor's lead here....in addition to Ad-Aware and Spybot, you should be able to click on the link below and see Bob Proffitt's discussion about other connections to free programs that will detect viruses, trojans, and spyware. It's not a bad idea to use them all.:

Hope this helps.

Download HijackThis

Important: Create a folder on the C: drive called C:\HJT.

You can do this by going to My Computer (Windows key+e) then double click on C: then right click and select New then Folder and name it HJT.
Unzip HijackThis into this folder. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO FIX ANYTHING IN HIJACKTHIS! When you run HijackThis from this folder and have it "Fix checked" it will create a backup file of modifications to use if restore is necessary.

Go here to get HijackThis and Tutorial:

http://tomcoyote.com/hjt/

IMPORTANT: DO NOT ATTEMPT TO FIX ANYTHING with HijackThis until your log has been examined by an expert. Deleting the wrong thing can make you far worse off than you are now!!!

Following the tutorial, scan with HijackThis, make a copy of your log, then post the log in one of the Tom Coyote forums (there's a link on the same page as the HJT download and tutorial) or one of the other anti-spyware sites where it can be examined by experts who will instruct you on what to do from that point on.

Best of luck to you.
