The short version of what I do...
But first, if you run a firewall, then you will trip up the IE 6 install. Just sharing.
1. Install Firefox.
2. Run IERADICATOR.
3. Install IE6 from Microsoft.

Have tried all I can think of to install it. I have Win Me O/S and have been using Explorer6 without problems until now but something went wrong and I tried a refresh of Windows via the recovery CD. All seemed well. I then went to Windows Update and it said I need Explorer6 so I downloaded and it tried to install but failed. I tried to use the repair feature in add/delete programes but withit being corrupt the window does not appear? I tried a shutdown and restart and found the install still would not complete when trying both a partial or full reinstall.The error message states to shut down all running programes and try again so I did this shutting down all running programes but Explorer via Cntrl alt del and it still failed due to, this time, a fix needed via Windows Update - Q290700. Tried to locate this fix but Windows Update does not recognise it? Tried install from a CD via desktop icon but install failed as per the running programmes error. Tried again via safe mode but found the D: drive not available in safe mode. I thought I might need to delete the programme and then install a clean download so I tried but I again only managed a partial (3/4) install. I am at a loss as to what to try next, Please Help?
