Internet Explorer Web page clicking noise

Aug 27, 2004 10:29AM PDT

Win XP Pro, 1G RAM, Dell 8350, IE SP1

All of a sudden everytime I change webpages I hear an audible click. I've checked all the usual items and see nothing out of order. If anyone has a solution to this I would appreciate it.

Go to Sounds in Control Panel and look under the Sounds tab and highlight the Navigation items, then choose NONE for the sound. Click Apply and OK to close the window.

Thanks Toni, but I have gone through the Sounds section several times before and after your suggestion. I'm unable to find anything that mentions "Navigation". I'm running XP Pro if it makes a difference in location.
Thanks, Brady

Tig, As A Test....

In Windows XP, open the Control Panel, then double click on the "Sounds and Audio Devices" icon. When that loads, click on the "Sounds" tab, then when that loads, in the "Sound Scheme" line, click on the "drop down menu" arrow, choose "No Sounds". Then click on "Apply", then OK. Restart the computer and see if the sound is still occurring when you connect.

If it is gone, then it's one of the sounds in your current scheme and changing it to something else, using the basic instructions above should resolve the issue.

Hope this helps.
