Internet Explorer - Save Target As

Oct 4, 2006 1:07AM PDT

I am trying to save some items to my computer from links on websites and in e-mails. The instructions on the websites and e-mails say to right-click on the link and then click on Save Target As on the pop-up menu. However, when I do this, the menu which pops up does not have any Save option listed, including no Save Target As option. This is unusual, as I have always been able to do this before (the last time might have been a couple of months ago), however, now it doesn't work. What could be wrong? Thanks for any assistance you can provide.

Possible solutions...
Oct 4, 2006 1:25AM PDT

1.) Disable Content Advisor by going Tools->Internet Options->Content and clicking Disable.

2.) Repair Internet Explorer.

3.) Simply click on the link and then go File->Save As.

4.) Download another browser, such as Firefox, and make it the default browser.

Hope this helps,
John

Thanks, but

changing the "Tools" setting worked on the web page but not in the e-mail. I am not interested in downloading another browser - this one should work just fine - and it used to do so. Could there be something wrong with the links in the e-mail?

What's the client?

Which e-mail client are you using? (Outlook, Outlook Express, Thunderbird, etc.) If this is web-based mail, let us know which provider it is. (Yahoo, Hotmail, Netscape, etc.) The links in the e-mail could be invalid, but that still shouldn't affect the right-click menu. There's likely a setting in the e-mail program that needs adjusted too, but it's program-specific.

Let us know.
